C E. Knoblauch I I , Former Mid-York Aide, Dies
BARNEVELD-Charles E. Knoblauch II, 54, of Boon Street, former assistant director of the Mid-York Library System, died Tuesday in Veterans Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness,
He was born in Bolton Landing, son of Henry C. and Mabel Finkle Knoblauch, and had previously lived in Glens Falls, Rome and Whitesboror. He was a 1941 Harvard graduate and received a masters degree in library science from SUNYA at Albany.
Mr. Knoblauch was a glider pilot with the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a retired lieutenant colonel in the Air Force Reserve.
He was a librarian in Ballson Spa from 1962 to 1966, was then assistant director at Jervis Library in Rome and most recently was associated with Mid-York. He retired in July.
Mr. Knoblauch had previously owned Knobby's Records, a record store in Glens Falls. He also had operated used book stores in Glens Falls, Rome, Whitesboro and Barnevett:
He leaves his wife, Helen Seaton Knoblauch; three sons, Charles, San Francisco; Thomas, Virginia Beach, Va.; Edward, Utica; a daughter, Johanna Mokrzycki, Syracuse; a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Jessie)Ashley, Burlington, VL; two brothers, Henry Jr., Glens Falls; George, Homestead, Fla.
— A memorial service will be held at 2 Sunday in the Unitarian Church.
